Pause Pi-hole, everywhere.
When a site breaks because of an ad list, you want blocking off for five minutes, on every Pi-hole you run. That's the job Tillarr does for Pi-hole during the beta. The first beta watches it, even with a password set.
What you see
- Whether it answers, how quickly, and which address answered
- A tap to open its own web page
What's next
During the beta: blocking state, queries and blocked today, and pause blocking for 1, 5 or 30 minutes on every Pi-hole and AdGuard Home at once.
Connect Pi-hole
What to have ready when you add it in Tillarr.
- Its address. Usually http://your-server, with /admin for its page. Add a remote address too, and Tillarr uses it when home doesn't answer.
- Nothing else. Watching needs no key and no login, so it's free and can't change anything in Pi-hole. When full support arrives, Tillarr asks for its key.
Good to know
- Watching works with Pi-hole's password set, because the check reads a public file that skips its sign-in.
- Pi-hole's app password can manage block lists, so keep it to yourself.
Behind a sign-in page
If a sign-in page guards Pi-hole, let /admin/img/favicons/manifest.json through so the check can reach it. The remote access guide shows how.
How Tillarr checks Pi-hole
Without a key, Tillarr asks for /admin/img/favicons/manifest.json to see that Pi-hole is up. Every request goes from your device straight to your server, never through us. Works with Pi-hole v6.
Questions
Can I pause several Pi-holes at once?
During the beta, yes: one pause covers every Pi-hole and AdGuard Home you've connected.
Which Pi-hole does Tillarr support?
Pi-hole v6, the current release. Its new API is what the health card and the pause use.
