Tillarr vs Helmarr

Both are native SwiftUI apps that talk to your self-hosted services straight from your iPhone, iPad and Mac, with no server in between. Helmarr is built around the media stack. Tillarr covers the whole homelab, from the arrs to Proxmox VE and Home Assistant, and explains what broke.

We make Tillarr, so this page sticks to facts you can check. Everything about Helmarr comes from its own website and App Store listing, linked under Sources. Checked 26 October 2026.

Prices are from the US App Store and can differ in other countries. Tillarr's column is its first beta and the plan for it; the roadmap has the order.

Which one fits your stack

Pick Helmarr if
you want an app on the App Store today, your stack is media first, and you need SSH, Unraid control, Plex or Apple Vision Pro now.
Pick Tillarr if
your homelab runs past the media stack, with Proxmox VE, Jellyfin, Home Assistant or Immich beside the arrs, and you'd rather pay one small price with nothing per service.
Try both if
you're not sure. Each app talks to your services directly with their own keys, so they can run side by side, and Tillarr's free plan already watches your whole stack.

Services

Helmarr lists 23 services, almost all of them for media. Tillarr's catalog has 36, sorted by how deep it goes: Full to manage a service, Health for a status card, and Watch for up or down with no key. Watching is free for every one of them.

Price

Tillarr has one Pro plan: $1.99 a month, $9.99 a year or $19.99 once. It connects every service and adds notifications. There are no per-service purchases. The free plan watches every service with no limit and connects 3 with a key, with every screen and action but notifications. Family Sharing is on.

Helmarr is free to download. Its App Store listing shows Helmarr Pro at $3.99 a month, Lifetime Pro at $34.99, an Ultra plan at $4.99 a month, and separate purchases for single services, such as Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Prowlarr, Seerr and qBittorrent at $4.99 each, and Bazarr at $3.99.

Where they differ

What Helmarr has that Tillarr doesn't, yet

  • A place on the App Store now, with ratings and a release history.
  • SSH and SFTP, which Tillarr doesn't plan to add.
  • Unraid, Plex, Tautulli, SABnzbd and NZBGet today. They reach Tillarr during its beta.
  • Apple Vision Pro, and media extras such as Tdarr, Wizarr, rTorrent and Jackett.

What Tillarr has that Helmarr doesn't list

  • The rest of the homelab: Proxmox VE (start, shut down or reboot a guest), Jellyfin directly, and health cards for Home Assistant and Immich, with Pi-hole, AdGuard Home and Uptime Kuma during the beta.
  • Watching anything else with a web address, free and with no limit.
  • A yearly plan, a lower monthly and one-time price, and nothing sold per service.
  • No analytics at all, where Helmarr's privacy label lists usage data and diagnostics.
  • A Mac menu bar extra for speed, problems and requests.

Switching from Helmarr

There's nothing to export. Add each service's address to Tillarr, plus its key for the ones you want to manage. Watching needs only the address. Like Helmarr, Tillarr keeps a home and a remote address for each service and switches between them on its own, and it can send custom headers for Cloudflare Access. Keys stay in your device's Keychain.
