Grafana, alongside your stack.
Your dashboards are only useful if Grafana is up. Tillarr asks Grafana's health endpoint, reads its version, and shows a problem next to the rest of your services.
What you see
- Whether it answers, how quickly, and which address answered
- Its version, read without a key
- A tap to open its own web page
What's next
After 1.0: Grafana and Prometheus alerts delivered as notifications through Tillarr's inbox.
Connect Grafana
What to have ready when you add it in Tillarr.
- Its address. Usually http://your-server:3000. Add a remote address too, and Tillarr uses it when home doesn't answer.
- Nothing else. Watching needs no key and no login, so it's free and can't change anything in Grafana.
Good to know
- Grafana answers its health endpoint without signing in, so watching needs no service account or token.
Behind a sign-in page
If a sign-in page guards Grafana, let /api/health through so the check can reach it. The remote access guide shows how.
How Tillarr checks Grafana
Without a key, Tillarr asks for /api/health to see that Grafana is up, and reads its version from the answer. Every request goes from your device straight to your server, never through us.
Questions
Does Tillarr show Grafana dashboards?
No. Tap Grafana to open its dashboards in your browser; Tillarr watches that it's healthy.
What does Grafana's health check cover?
It answers with Grafana's version and whether its database is reachable, which is how Tillarr knows it's Grafana.
Can Grafana alerts reach me through Tillarr?
That's planned after 1.0, through the same inbox other tools use.
